Which of these books..?

Okay, so I’m gonna buy three books (there’s a discount when you buy three xD) I already have one that I want but I can’t choose the other two!
So which two of these books should I buy:
Lord Of The Flies by William Golding
Blaze by Stephen King
Duma Key by Stephen King
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
The Woods by Harlan Coben

If you want to please tell me what’s so good about it :)

The Woods by Harlan Coben is awsome i read it in a day because i couldn’t put it down if you like thrillers you’ll love it!

Lord of the Flies is also meant to be a very good book!

(Also if you go one ebay you can pick these books up 4 really cheap- i got a Harlan Coben for like £2.00) so you could even buy them all :)

This is a story about a mission to Mars gone wrong. Earth, having nearly depleted its natural resources, turns its attention to the planet Mars, in an attempt to ease the inhabitants of Earth who are on the verge of starving. It was the hope of Earth's scientists that they would colonize Mars, building domed cities there until they, through their science, could devise a means of restoring a breathable atmosphere there. The principal character, Charles Atwood, is suspended between fear and reality as his dreams take on a sinister life of its own, leaving Charles to wonder if reality is a dream or the dream reality. ,At times, you will feel the urge to look up from these pages to see if there is a Walker in the midst. I must, however, warn you not to, for there may just be one heading your way. Beware of the Walkers.

In 1952, Madeleine Blais's father died suddenly, leaving his pregnant wife and their five young children to face their future alone. Uphill Walkers is the story of how the Blais family pulled together to survive and ultimately thrive in an era when a single-parent family was almost unheard-of. As they came of age in an Irish-American household that often struggled to make ends meet, the Blais children would rise again and again above all obstacles -- at every step of the way inspired by a mother who expected much but gave even more, as she saved and sacrificed to provide each child with the same education they would have received had their father lived. Beautiful, heartbreaking, and full of wonderful insights about sisterhood, brotherhood, and the ties that bind us together, Uphill Walkers is a moving portrait of the love it takes to succeed against the odds -- and what it means to be a family. "In plain-spoken prose ... Uphill Walkers has a remarkable dignity and eloquence." -- Carmela Ciuraru, USA Today "Beautiful ... This is the story of a family, united by blood, pride, and the bonds that defy logic." -- Ellen Kanner, The Miami Herald "Scrupulously candid and deeply compassionate...." -- Reeve Lindbergh, The Washington Post Book World
The Summer Walkers The Summer Walkers
$15.56

The Summer Walkers is the name the crofters of Scotland's north-west Highlands gave the Travelling People - the itinerant tinsmiths, horse-dealers, hawkers and pearl-fishers who made their living 'on the road'. These Scottish nomads are not gypsies. They are indigenous Gaelic-speaking Scots, who, to this day, remain heirs of a vital and ancient culture. The Summer Walkers documents an archetypal and vanishing way of life. It is a book of vivid stories, poetry, song and factual record. It explores the Travellers' ethnic origins, customs, superstitions, craftwork, the secret 'cover-tongue', and their traditional work as pearl-fishers. Many of today's Travellers have moved into houses and live lives almost indistinguishable from the settled population. This book documents aspects of the old way of life while it is still remembered. By combining their stories with a unique collection of photographs and memoirs from the great folklorist Hamish Henderson, Timothy Neat has produced a fascinating and deeply moving book.
The Island Walkers The Island Walkers

A powerful first novel about a family that slips from fortune’s favor and a town broken by the forces of modernityAcross a bend of Ontario’s Attawan River lies the Island, a working-class neighborhood of whitewashed houses and vine-freighted fences, black willows and decaying sheds. Here, for generations, the Walkers have lived among the other mill workers. The family’s troubles begin in the summer of 1965, when a union organizer comes to town and Alf Walker is forced to choose between loyalty to his friends at the mill and advancement up the company ranks. Alf’s worries are aggravated by his wife, Margaret, who has never reconciled her middle-class English upbringing to her blue-collar reality. As the summer passes, Joe, their son, is also forced to reckon with his family’s standing when he falls headlong for a beautiful newcomer on a bridge—a girl far beyond him, with greater experience and broader horizons. As the threat of mill closures looms, the Walkers grapple with their personal crises, just as the rest of the town fights to protect its way of life amid the risks of unionization and the harsh demands of corporate power. Superbly crafted and deeply moving, this remarkable debut follows the Walkers to the very bottom of their night only to confirm, in the end, life’s ultimate hopefulness. The Island Walkers is at once a love letter to a place, a gripping family saga, and a testimony to the emergence of an important new novelist.

In 1952, Madeleine Blais's father died suddenly, leaving his pregnant wife and their five young children to face their future alone in a newly purchased house in rural Massachusetts. Uphill Walkers is the story of how the Blais family pulled together to survive and ultimately thrive in an era when a single-parent family was almost unheard of. As they came of age in an Irish-American household that often struggled to make ends meet, the Blais children would rise again and again above all obstacles -- from the complex vicissitudes of Catholic doctrinal education to the inevitable sibling rivalries. At every step of the way they were inspired by a mother who expected much but gave even more, as she saved and sacrificed to provide her children with the same education they would have received had their father lived. Then, when they had grown to adulthood and begun to lead separate lives, the Blais children had to band together once more to come to the aid of Raymond, their troubled eldest brother, whose mental illness had driven his life to take increasingly darker turns. Beautiful, heartbreaking, and full of wonderful insights about sisterhood, brotherhood, and the ties that bind us together, Uphill Walkers is a moving portrait of the love it takes to succeed against the odds -- and what it means to be a family.

John Bemrose's highly acclaimed national bestseller tells the story of a family who slips from fortune's favour in a southwestern Ontario mill town during the mid-1960s. Like his father before him, Alf Walker is a fixer in the local textile mill. When a labour dispute forces him to choose between loyalty to his friends and his own advancement, Alf's actions inadvertently set in motion a series of events that will reverberate far into the future. Meanwhile, Alf's wife, Margaret, must reconcile her middle-class upbringing with her blue-collar reality, as her marriage is undermined by forces she cannot name. And after their eldest son, Joe, falls headlong for a girl he first glimpses on a bridge, the boy finds his world overturned by the passion and uncertainty of young love. At once intimate and epic in scope, The Island Walkers follows the Walker family to the very bottom of their night, only to confirm, in the end, life's regenerative power.

The pirates of the Caribbean have a name for kids who can walk on water -- they call them polliwogs. As far as 14-year-old Jolly knows, she's the last polliwog still alive. She is valuable to the pirate captain who raised her, for she can sneak up on an enemy ship by walking over the waves. When someone sets a trap for Jolly's ship, Jolly alone escapes. She is washed up on a tiny island inhabited by a farming family -- and the ghosts who labor for them. The farmers have a son, Munk, who has been raised almost in hiding. Munk longs to go to sea, but his parents say that they are afraid of pirates, and they have forbidden Munk to reveal his true identity -- he, too, is a polliwog. But pirates are not the only threat in the Caribbean. Evil forces are stirring, and a demon from the sea attacks and murders Munk's parents. Was the demon really after Munk? And Jolly, too? Why are the polliwogs so valuable, and who wants them enough to kill for them? Jolly and Munk must sail with a strange crew of outcasts, led by the mysterious Ghost Trader, to avenge their loved ones and try to stop an ancient, malevolent force known as the Maelstrom. What it will cost both teens, no one can tell -- in this thrilling, swashbuckling fantasy from the extraordinary Kai Meyer.
