Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library
An architecturally barrier-free lending library, the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library set a new standard of library service for persons with disabilities when it opened in 1991. The facility was renamed in honor of the former chairman of The New York Public Library's Board of Trustees who served from 1981 to 1990.
